PolicyPak for Acala Software Acala DVD Ripper

A DVD ripper is an application that your users don’t use every day, but when they do use it, they want it to work as expected at the first attempt.  Being that it’s an application type that they don’t utilize often, they don’t have the expertise to configure settings for it.

That’s where PolicyPak comes in.  We enforce and lock down the optimum settings values that you, the administrator, want your users to have.  PolicyPak sets and enforces expectations for your users’ applications, so that they get the same experience, every time they launch it.

PolicyPak does this for applications your users utilize each and every day, and applications that they employ only occasionally.

Keep your Acala DVD Ripper configuration settings enforced and streamlined with PolicyPak.

Our PolicyPak software snaps-in to the Group Policy Editor and gives you the same user interface as Acala DVD Ripper itself.  You can use PolicyPak to enable some settings and disable others.  As shown below, you can make sure that “Load DVD Automatically when application started” is always checked. At the same time, make sure that “Disable ScreenSaver when recording” is always unchecked.  Then disable any one or all of these settings and select “Disable corresponding control in target application.”

When you disable a setting such as “Disable corresponding control in target application” with PolicyPak, users see this.

As you can see, users can’t modify settings they can’t access if they are disabled.  A registry savvy user could still modify a setting by accessing the registry itself.  You can prevent this as well for settings such as “Shutdown computer when record finished” and ensure it is always unchecked.  You can do this by utilizing PolicyPak’s signature feature, ACL Lockdown, which locks settings all the way down to the registry.  To do so, simply right click on a setting and select “Perform ACL Lockdown.
