PolicyPak Browser Router now lets you give some power back to your end-users. They can specify their browser of choice, and PolicyPak will let them utilize it. Here’s how to set up the feature.
PolicyPak: Set up a default browser using PolicyPak Application Manager
Hi, this is Sal from Policy Pak technical support and in this video I am going to show you how you can deliver a default web browser for your target machines. So, here just to show you on my target machine, my default browser is Google Chrome, so if I click on that link at Google Chrome it’s going to open that. So, from the settings from our pack we are going to deliver Mozilla Firefox to be acting as our default browser, so I will open up properties and in here I will select Advanced General tab and I’ll select default but I’m going to select Firefox as my default browser. So, click okay. So, now Firefox is going to be acting as a default browser and all I need to do is to run
GPUpdate to refresh the policy on that machine and we will wait for you to decide to be finished successfully and then we’ll click on that link and you will see that it is going to open that in a Firefox browser.
Okay, so now Firefox is going to be acting as a default browser and same settings is going to apply on Google Chrome and on Microsoft Internet Explorer as well. I will quickly show you where you can find those options in Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer. So, first in Google Chrome if I click on the properties in a basic setup you are going to see that default browser, so you need to make sure that option is underlined when you want to deliver that policy by clicking the dropdown and set Google Chrome again. So, now that option is underlined, only then that option is going to deliver. For Internet Explorer you need to open the properties and in here you will see that option in a programs tab , so here you can deliver the Internet Explorer as default browser as well. Okay, I hope it helps. Thank You
